As part of a UNDP initiative to promote sustainability and data transparency in the cacao industry, I was contracted to design a concept for a Cacao Data Platform aimed at improving access to actionable insights for stakeholders across the value chain. This work was commissioned based on my previous experience at Yellow Seed, where I focused on bridging information gaps between producers, buyers, and advocates in the cacao space. The platform design centered around visualizing key data—such as deforestation, climate risks, land use, and socio-economic indicators—to support more informed decision-making across sectors.
A central feature of the design was a personalized company portal, allowing businesses to track specific sourcing regions and receive alerts on critical issues like deforestation and living wage risks. These dashboards were envisioned to help companies engage more proactively with their supply chains, align with sustainability standards, and improve traceability.
